McCarren Park Pool, in Greenpoint, North Brooklyn, has been used as a cultural space for the past three years. It is now scheduled to be returned to its use as a swimming pool. Here's the reaction of different people interested in the park, the pool and the parties.
My grandparents used to go to this pool when they were young, may they rest in peace. Personally I think it is a better investment to restore the old pool to what it used to be. I feel sorry for these fools who cannot see what is right in front of them: this thing is an architectural jewel and a historic piece of property that with a little love could be a place where children can splash and swim, and be a testament to ingenuity, too: with a little work, they could easily make McC green.
