*** EXPAND FOR MORE INFO ***

This video covers how to maximize the stats on your Daedric weapons. It also compares the benefits of Maces versus Daggers and what makes Maces superior.

*** NOTE: The cap on Armor Rating is 672, so there is NO NEED to use "Fortify __ Armor" enchantments if you improve the armor as shown.

If you have not seen how to make a Smithing gear set or smithing potions, or you do not know what perks are required to proceed with Skyrim trade skills, watch my Part One video that covers how to get started:

Skyrim Tradeskills - Perk and Gear Set Preparation - Part One

Skyrim Dragonscale Armor Maxing Guide - Part Two

Information on the Armor Rating cap and other tips for maximizing tradeskill armor stats came from an excellent joint effort over at the Bethesda forums:

  • You sure do like playing skyrim if ur level 82 but what else is their to do once u done the civil war, guilds and the main story? For me i would stop at level 50 and just start a new game with a different kind of build in order to keep finding the game more entertaining. Thats just me

  • @coolboyglasses1 - daedric artifacts. thane of every city. unlock every word wall / shout. dragon priest masks. bards college.

  • War Axes aren't practical as one-handed weapons? I mean, they do the most damage, correct?

  • @edahl6196 - maces do the most burst damage. swords do the most damage per second. war axes fall behind both and daggers are last, unless you play entirely stealth.

  • 144 daggers x 30 (Shrouded Gloves Bonus) Wins your theorycrafting. 4320 damage (non power attack).

also, daggers benefit from marksman (in a strange way tho)

Daggers are better for Bards. Maces, for the non-stealth classes, maybe.

  • @lemaozinho - no. shrouded gloves affect all weapons, not just daggers.

  • @PortablePRO - really find paralyze to be a waste of an enchant if you are going for one-hit kills, but it may help you. daggers are inferior when not sneak attacking. when sneak attacking - they are near EQUAL even at 30x (less - not better - you are wrong about the higher damage, it is lower). they are a valid playstyle and they work, but they are not the best for the majority of situations.

if you like them, use them, your method is decent and playable.

  • @lemaozinho but 536 x 12 = 6432 is still much more.

Only reason to use dagger is for the kill animation damage wise not so much.

  • The advantage to daggers is that they are SILENT, which means that if attacking from stealth it will not be heard. Knowing that fortify one-handed enchantments do not affect daggers also frees up 4 enchantment slots for other uses, if desired. Daggers are not useless, they are different. It is noted that this video is relatively old.

  • I play entirely stealth and can 1hit almost any unit 'cept for trolls, giants.mammoths, and giants..

plus it plays the stealth kill animation

  • Although daggers dont benefit from one-handed enchants, daggers DO benefit from Armsan (5/5) so your total damage for daggers is not correct. When you factor in the added damage from Armsman, daggers will do more damage. This is also while not wearing the Shroud gloves which will X2 the damage from daggers making the modifier x30 (15 x 2 = 30), at which point daggers far surpasses one handed weapons.

  • @Reianor thanks. though from looking through everything a bit more, i don't need to drink ridiculous amounts of potions, especially if i follow Pms00's guide

  • @MrApeachtree

The 2nd potion would purge the effect of the 1st potion, so short answer is no.

Long answer - there's a method that allows you to break those limitations (the only cap is that of binary math - get an enormous enough number and it turns negative), but it's an exploit.

Google "fortify restoration exploit" if you're interested.
