Years before the events of Energon or Armada, Rodimus gathered together Transformers of both Autobot and Decepticon origin. United under the Team Rodimus banner, the apposing factions put their differences aside to work side by side, mining the precious energy-rich mineral known as Energon. Over time and exposure to the vast amounts of Energon they mined, the Transformers under Rodimus became Omnicons.
Omnicons are gifted with the ability to handle, refine and and shape raw Energon. If a normal Transformer attempted to even touch raw Energon they would be badly damaged. The Omnicons also created the Cybertron cities in order to mine Energon on different worlds. There are three distinct body types shared among the Omnicon ranks, an Off-Road Jeep, a Jet Fighter and a Maser Tank. As apposed to Terrorcons, each Omnicon possesses an individual mind of his own, regardless of weather or not they share a body type.
A young Omnicon, Skyblast is a skilled tactician, although he prefers to spend his time working on aerial manuveurs. Like the other Omnicons, he can convert raw Energon into Energon Stars and weapons for his fellow Autobots. Skyblast was working alongside Strongarm in the Energon mines below Ocean City on Earth when they struck a huge deposit of Energon. Soon afterwards, Strongarm and Skyblast Omnicons on asteroid mines in Earth's solar system were under attack from beast form Transformers, later known to be Terrorcons. During the following attack on Ocean City, Strongarm and Skyblast ignored the destruction occurring right outside their lab preferring to single-mindedly focus on refining the Energon they had previously discovered. (seen in the episode 'Cybertron City')
