Yes, that's right, here it is, the film that you've all been waiting for. (What, you thought I could only make trailers?)

It has been kept from the general public for far too long. having been locked away in the vaults of the Euro-Tatterdemalion, Inc. vaults for the better half of a century, it now makes its YouTube debut. I am happy to present, finally released to a worldwide audience because of popular demand, The Hound Always Weeps.

It has been described as the epicenter of the disaster that is 1950s German existential cinema. But remember, you can't spell "epicenter" without "epic." Coincidence? Quite possibly.

You'll laugh. You'll cry. Then you'll feel guilty about having laughed at something that was actually very serious. But you'll rationalize it by saying that it was a defense mechanism, and you will be forgiven.

Written, produced and directed by Tatterdemalion, with cinematography and editing by Tatterdemalion, and starring, co-starring and guest starring Tatterdemalion, The Hound Always Weeps dares to challenge the conventions of classical cinema, whilst mocking the conventions of modern cinema. So everyone wins.

If you see only one film this year, just remember...this one's free.

Seriously though, this did take a lot of work, and while I wasn't originally planning to put it up here, it's made its way here. I hope you like it as much as the people at its first public screening (making liberal use of the term "public screening").

Please, rate, comment, favorite if you must. I'd love to hear it.

  • And at 3:25 when you say there is no victory to be had, shouldn't it be to be won?

  • Had, won...they're both acceptable.
