Jesse Michaels is a fucking lyrical and musical genius. He's also just an all around nice guy. He was selling posters he drew for 20 bucks, i said id buy one if i had money, and he sent me one for free, and continued a correspondence with me. The music he has created is legendary and means a lot to me.

i perfer op ivy and common rider over rancid. they just sound better and jesse is a genius writer who is not afraid to call out society as he sees it. his music actually makes me think. i dont hate rancid i because they were one of the bands that got me into punk. but rancid doesnt have that raw energy that punk should have. dont get me wrong though theyre still cool but a little more anger might help a bit. also i keep forgeting to buy this album! : (

Lol no wonder, i thought it sounded like op ivy, Jesse Michaels! :D
because music like that isn't supposed to be played on the radio, it's underground and against authority, if you don't get that, you will never get what Jesse Michaels stands for. he's a legend!

god damn you kids are dumb jesse disbaned because it was getting to big tim formed rancid with other members of ivy then they got lars who is a really good guitarist and vocalist. it was a win win situation common rider formed and so did rancid so now we have to awsome bands instead of one(operation ivy) but lets not deny when they were together they were the best ska-punk band in 20 years
