Broadcast on BBC2 in 1997 as part of Radio 1 night, to mark BBC Radio 1's 30th birthday. Apologies for the poor tracking. This part covers the closure of pirate radio stations such as Radio Caroline, the replacement of the Light Programme with Radio 1 in September 1967. Features Tony Blackburn, Robin Scott (station controller), Jimmy Young, John Peel, Kenny Everett, Dave Cash, Emperor Rosko, Doreen Davies (producer) and footage of Jimi Hendrix.
