It depends on what they're doing and how creative they're being, all of this technology opens up a lot of potential - CDJ's are also on the verge of cheating if we are to pretend that DJ'ing has rules. Personally I find selecting tracks and mixing just as easy on a CDJ as a midi controller, the midi controller is actually harder if you refuse to look at the laptop screen.

Even better would be a 'matrix' like port on the back of our heads? But I suppose DJs will have to get used to mixing with google glass if they're going to be up to date.

back in the day when I were using wax cylinders to play to young folk dancing the Charleston we didn't have any of this fancy mandy acid software and new fangled laptops. The word lap was like saying ****** to a young lady.

So you can just carry about USBs rather than a laptop? Also CDJs are so much more fun to use I find.
