Evolution Debate: Shermer V Wells 4of8

This evolution vs intelligent design debate features Michael Shermer and Jonathan Wells. Shermer was once a creationist. He went on to publish "Why Darwin Matters" and is the founding publisher of skeptic magazine. Jonathan Wells is a Discovery Institute fellow and author of the book "Icons Of Evolution". Wells is also a "Moonie", a follower of Rev Sun Myung Moon who chose Wells to enter a Ph.D. program so that he could "devote his life to destroying Darwinism" (but not gravityism). The basic theology of the Moonies is that Christ failed to complete his plan of salvation and the new messiah must come from Korea to complete the plan. By sheer coincidence Rev moon is Korean and therefore the second coming of Christ. I performed some research but could not find if Rev Moon is either made of wood or weighs the same as a duck, but it is likely that he may weigh the same as a "crockaduck".

It appears that any critique of the video "Icons Of Evolution" on Youtube is quickly removed after DCMA take down orders are issued. Obviously, certain organisations view censorship as a valid form of argument.

I don't know if it is just, but the Discovery Institute people make me feel dirty...after watching this for a couple minutes I find myself wanting to bathe.

@ndrthrdr1 Hebrews 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists AND THAT HE REWARDS THOSE WHO SEEK HIM."

This scripture states God will reward a person's faith. There are other scriptures where Christ promises to "manifest" Himself to those who believe. I may have been a blind sheep following blindly at the start, but God made good on his promise to me. I can't deny such proof of His existence.

BTW, initially I was impressed with Mr. Wells for what I heard from him. But I had no idea he was a Rev. Moon follower. I no longer have any regard for Mr. Wells.. I am not seeking to defend him in my arguments.. I am speaking of things I believe to be true about evolution and of things I have experienced with Jesus Christ and know to be true about God.

@ndrthrdr1 As far as the "assumption" that Christian faith is without supporting evidence, you speak of a subject of which I don't believe you know anything of. Many evolutionists believe that the idea of a God or Jesus Christ is simply a myth. My own experiences with Christ confirm he was raised from the dead and I have gained such experience through the vehicle of "faith" which Christ requires. It doesn't end there, however. Christ promises to manifest Himself to those who have "faith".

@ndrthrdr1 I assume you mean the latter is belief without supporting evidence (faith). What I believe evolutionists have done is take legitimate evidence from artifacts that have been found, or from data which has been reproduced through the scientific method, at the species level or about that level, on a limited basis and have "assumed" that such data also applies to a broader universal population, i.e. Kingdoms, Phylum, and Classes, without using the scientific method to prove it.
