Walking along Lock St. towards Main St. in old Port Dalhousie, where construction will begin soon on a 17 story condo tower that has created much controversy in the area. This Project is being built by the Port Dalhousie Vitalization Corperation, (P.D.V.C.)

  • thanks Hans for the vid.

Can't get on board with those who think it will make Port a better place or those who are indifferent. 17 stories in this area of town? It's going to suck.

  • @kokopelliman66 I'm not convinced it will be any busier as the "old charm" so many enjoyed won't be there. Also, with most of the bars closing and not returning, it can only get quieter.

Obviously with more people living there (the tower) there will be more traffic from new residents. However comparing that to the people who went to the bars, it would seem like nothing.

I personally don't care one way or the other about the tower...I'm just thrilled to see the bars gone.

  • @ryanz4 however, with the tower, it will bring even more people to port and thus, make it louder. Main street will become a highway, and bars and restaurants will be packed.

  • Things have been much quieter in my area, which is quite nice. Haven't had to put up with the drunk students staggering home between 1-4am.

Hopefully this will change Port for the better.
