http://millennialleaders.com. Are you a parent who is hovering way too closely over the college campus? If so, watch this video as Bea Fields, Co-Author of Millennial Leaders discusses how to "cut the cord" with your Gen Y adults.

  • Bea,

Wow what great information I had no idea this was happening. My children are very young still but great insight on the cell phone usage. You always bring such great value with your videos. I encourage everyone to click on the link in the description box and check out the Millenial Leaders Book.

  • Come on kids, rebel!

Tell your parents to get lost!!!

  • What a big difference between a few short years. I'm only 30 and to my knowledge, none of this helicoptering ever happened in my generation.

I agree. The things she was saying weren't necessarily nonsense, but they're things that should be self evident to anyone with a brain. We didn't need some well dressed lady with a pseudo-intellectual sounding drawl to tell us about helicopter parents.

  • I thought I would get away from my parents in college, but I was so very wrong. My only goal in life right now is to get as far as possible away from them. Fuck 30 minute phone calls.

  • This is insulting and disturbing. A parent being active in some like say, Jr. high is one thing, but to get involved in college!? Good Lord! I'm a sociology major and I'm trying desperately to find some theory to explain what I'm hearing.

College is sink or swim time, you either claw for success or fall into the anonymous masses. Your parents can not shield you from that reality at that point in your life.

  • "generation y consultant". sounds like a fake expert to me.

  • I cant wait to go to college.

  • That's right. I think some people are too bond by relationships. Even what she calls for is too much for me, I moreorless plan on dropping my parents once I hit college.

  • Then pity us.

  • thats not a crime, contrary to what you bums belive. I am a professor, and help anyone who asked, whether they ask or not. I am proud of it.
