@deaconx I know a lot of people are UPSET at why kind of space content TOR will have but really, it's a GOOD CALL. The 'rail shooter' experience will allow them to cater to people who are totally new to MMO's, deliver a cinematic experience as well and it's not a HUGE dev focus right now - the rest of the game is. Expansions later can expand on space, hopefully providing a more free roam experience. Consider this SPACE EXPERIENCE WITH TRAINING WHEELS ;)

@baryon15 Reading is your friend. Read the information.
Clearly, BioWare is not going with this sort of space content experience - though many wish we had more of a free flight simulation experience rather than a tunnel shooter. Either way, as PeaveyFury stated this is just a demo of space combat made with the same engine (HeroEngine) that SWTOR is build with.

looks good to me, but would it be possible to have passengers, like in starwars galaxies?

@Essefen Being straight is overrated.

@deaconx I hope so, cause i truly believe that the only reason WoW did better than EQ2 is because of the fact that it ran on pretty much any system as to wear EQ2 much harder to run at launch.
Anyone know how this engine runs on the average pc? Is it anything like the unreal engine in terms of being very light & system friendly?

@rickford75 Hey Rick :)
The game engine in itself is not really the taxing part - it's how it's used that would make it taxing. I can tell you that BioWare has HEAVILY modified the Hero Engine to a degree where it's a whole new beast, and the game will be able to run on low end machines. Hope that answers your question - cheers.

@deaconx Only fair to point out now that BioWare has proven with SW:ToR that this engine is totally useless or at least is how they have used it. They have shipped with low quality textures officially claiming this was due to performance issues. Considering many users are sporting the latest hardware this can only point to an engine issue. I personally play Skyrim on *ultra* settings and have much better performance than in SW:ToR. This engine fails.

@TheLordGenerals I've never worked with the HeroEngine, but have seen things it can do... and I think the reason SWTOR is what it is, is simply because of the design decisions that were made. Personally, I'm not a fan of about 90% of that game. In fact, the cinematic/multiplayer conversation stuff is the only thing about TOR I will praise.
