Welcome to my underwater world and join me as I hunt for red abalone along the Mendocino Coast in northern California. It's hard for me to stay focused on the hunt when there are so many beautiful sights to enjoy.

  • i really enjoy your videos, nat

  • @sober201048 Thanks Natalie

  • Cool video, like the underwater video too, I so want to try something like that with my Zi8. Crazy deep or is that normal depth for getting abalone?

  • @nesianmagic Thanks for your comment. Maybe they make a water tight case for your Zi8. No you don't need to dive deep to find abs. This particular spot just happened to be 40' and the vis was pretty descent. I sometimes dive as shallow as 10-15'.

  • another great vid Mike, one of these days we should hook up for a dive !!! hit me up some time on the NCUH web site

  • @mattmattison Thanks for your comment Matt, although there's a lot of room for improvement here. I'd love to dive with you sometime thanks for the invitation. I'll have to check out the NCUH site. Take care.

  • great music fits it perfectly bro !!!!

  • Hello fellow abalone divers, I need your help. Each time when I dive for abalones, I see many sunflower starfish. Yes, the ones with 20 arms. They eat many abalone and sea urchins. I always carry a sissors and cut them up. If you guys would do the same, that would be great! Let's take out these predators of abalones, and there will be more abalones for us to get in the future. thank you for reading.

  • hey Jeff good to hear from ya. I'm glad that you like my vids, this was my first try at videoing under water. I hope you and your family are doing well.
