Hundreds of thousands sick of hearing the government say it has no money particularly as it is now involved in yet another expensive war are due to take part in what is set to be the UK's biggest political demonstration in a decade.
Mass protests are taking place across the British capital to oppose the government's 80 billion pound spending cuts. Early estimates stated around 500,000 people. The demonstrators are demanding that the government abandon what they call damaging cuts and set out an alternative based on job creation, fair taxation, and growth.

@007debtpredator. Just curious: Who were the ones throwing rocks, bottles and fire onto the police? Is it not the ones who want to better themselves through education and one day have the better jobs, skills and hope? Of what ethnic category are they? How many blacks were involved, eh? If these are the ones with hope - what would one expect the reactions of those of whom are without?

The policemen who have to deal with the protesters are themselves victims of budget cuts. They face receiving devaluated pensions and postponed retirement. They should join the protesters, too, if you think about it.
