In the aftermath of the worst financial crisis for decades, we look at what has changed. As governments struggle to recover from mammoth deficits and investment capital gets squeezed, what are the geopolitical ramifications? Who have been the biggest winners and losers as the balance of economic power has shifted? What lessons have been learned and what risks remain - could it happen again?

Arkady Dvorkovich (Aide to the President of the Russian Federation)
Marcus Agius (Group Chairman, Barclays)
Wang Shuo (Editor, Caixin Media)
Dennis Turner (Chief Economist, HSBC)

Moderated by Stephanie Flanders (Economics Editor, BBC)

  • The entire economy is a sham. This is what everyone is basically admitting. They're just trying to figure out how best to fool the populace into believing that isn't true, and that it's worthwhile to continue working our asses off for the benefit of the aristocrats. I say, we need another french revolution. Take down the oligarchy.

  • @Ranger4564 While I agree with your stance and assessment, a communist system is still advocating a spin off of the monetary system, which lends to the corruption and behavior that we wish to erradicate. No hierarchy or social stratification and by all means, no more fiat currency.

  • Marcus Agius is the man pure class!

  • @relarerfhjk I am a communist, asshole, but I probably worked harder and more hours in my life than you ever will, you self serving prick. It's people like you I want to see fall from their pompous towers, and I will not be there to offer any fucking help when you need it. You will need it, because even though you do not understand, the machine that is the steam roller will run you over just as well as me.

  • @Ranger4564 fuck off back to your parents caravan. You sound like a fucking communist. Go live in Cuba with the monkey Castro

  • For anyone wondering about my use of the word Communism... I used it precisely for the same reason Zizek defends his use of the word, at the end of this video... at 4:45 or so, he explains why the term communism is still valid, even if the system we're referring to is not a reconstitution of the old Soviet form of fascism. watch?v=KvjGOncSyHM I suggest you watch the whole vid.
