Primosten is placed in central Dalmatia, on the promontory called "Suha punta".
The old town core is situated on an island from where comes the name of Primosten, which would be "derived from the bridge".
Tourism in Primosten dates from 1956, while tourism was marked by opening the first restaurant in Primosten called "Kremik".
1962 on the peninsula Raduča was built the first camp, and immediately afterwards first hotel then was built additional tourist facilities such as tennis courts, mini golf, volleyball courts and more.

Primosten is situated not far from the Marina Kremik.
