We took several trains from Beijing, China to Moscow in Russia in September 2006. As part of our 420 day round the world trip we made our way from Asia to Europe overland.
We stopped in Irkutsk and saw Lake Baikal

  • should've taken Beijin-Moscowor Ulanbator-Moscow train. much more fun, could see many things that u missed in that fat ass 1st class car

  • We did!! We went from Beijing to Moscow via Ulaanbataar... And we weren't in 1st class! We stayed at the various stops with locals and saw loads, we also shared our cabin with different Russians over the various nights - but I guess no one can do it all. We loved Mongolia - check out our part one video which includes the Beijing to Mongolia section.
