This video shows an athlete at CAP performing a repeat jump (attempting to get off the ground in under 180 milliseconds and get at lease 15 inches of height in each jump) on a jump mat by Fusion Sport, they get a green light if they are off the ground fast enough and a blue light if they jump high enough. This instant feedback has shown the athletes exactly how fast they have to be and challenges them to jump higher each time. The Myotest device on the stick is graphing their jump which gives us a nice picture of how reactive the athlete is becoming.
Great job!!! Where did you get that light? I use myotest and emphasize ground contact time. That light is a great feedback. I work with alot of girls basketball players in southern california. I just started doing single leg hop JJ4 with some athletes. I love that light as feedback. Brilliant!!!!

We got it from Fusion Sport out of Australia. It is part of the Smart Speed Timing System and it is very cool. Using it along with the Myotest gives us great feedback instantly and great testing info for analysis.

does the jump pad flash red when the ground contact time is too high?

correct, the light will flash red if the contact time is to long, green if the contact time is below the time you set in the system (in this case .180 seconds) and blue if you jump high enough (in this case 28 cm).
