Helen Redmond, LCSW, CADC, commented on the psychological trauma of the war during the 2-part Roundtable - "Iraq: the Soldiers' Rebellion," before a packed room. She and others spoke after the panel presentation by Iraq Veterans Against the War members given on June 16, 2007.

Helen Redmond's writings have appeared in International Socialist Review, CounterPunch and other fine journals. She recently wrote a widely distributed article on the psychological effects of war.

Much more video is coming from the 3 hour roundtable that was part of Socialism 2007: Socialism for the 21st Century. The conference was held in Chicago, IL from June 14-17, 2007.

  • This is a really important point especially as there is now starting to be a movement for health care generally. This shows why that movement and the antiwar movement have common ground (besides the obvious point that we could afford healthcare if we spent the war budget on it!).
