Yep. When the documentary got to the part where Tolstoy writes to Nicholas about the worsening state of Russia, we see images that resemble Scar's regime. Then, Jeremy Irons speaks. I mention this to my teacher in class, and he dismissed the Lion King as some silly Disney movie where two lions "feel the love tonight." Then I hear Nicholas' children's names and see their faces, and when we get to Anastasia, I think of the movie. He dismisses that but I tell him its false.

He's supposedly a town in North Italy near the French border that's existed since the Middle Ages but has tried to retain autonomy since Italian Unification. He's never been recognized by Feliciano or Romano or any other country, but has tried to insist that the autonomy he had in the Middle Ages still applies. Here's the wikipedia article. His character is mentioned and so is Hetalia, isn't that awesome.

To add to COOKIEMARIANNE's comment, it is not a legit yaoi, it simply uses innuendo upon disclosing the relationships of the countries that make it seem like a "shippy" anime. What I do advise you to be careful with is the fact that there are a lot of obscure and brief references to minor historical events that fly by quite fast and the nations are represented by ethnic stereotypes and can be racist towards each other at times. Kind of like South Park, at least the dub is

  • @TruthinessChibiOtaku I swear to god, that man's voice is just... asgahgshagsjaghfshgashgak IT GIVES ME FEELINGS!

  • @cuquira95

Lol I was just thinking about that. Jeremy Irons is a really famous British actor and he voiced Scar, so it was perfect when Iggy was getting badass imperialistic pics while Jeremy Irons was singing. On a side note, I began watching a documentary on Russia's Last Czar Nicholas II today in Global History class. It's narrated by Jeremy Irons. ;D

And I'm Polish. Thank you for cosplaying and showing appreciation for Feliks, he's awesome. And I'm writing a Research Paper on one of his national heroes, Lech Walesa. xD

  • spanish part special for me.

i like it. italian-german part epic and wonderfull.

  • French is French Canadian, but it's same lyrics.

    "D’accord, vos pouvoirs de réflexion

Volent plus bas qu’un derrière de cochon

Mais bêtes comme vous êtes, faites attention

Rebelles et lions font rébellion "

    (Okay, your powers of reflection

Are lower than a pig's backside!

But as stupid as you are, be careful!

    "Rebels" and "Lions" make rebellion.)

  • YAY FOR POLAND!

(I am a proud Poland cosplayer)

  • i like what you did with the italy Germany england canada and america
