I totally agree mate, I just don't appreciate those comments where people credit their God for the great work of the medical profession. That's where this all started.

So how exactly did this argument over religion start? There will never be a solid fact to win such a battle. So seriously guys, enough with the arguments. Christian's need to learn to stop being dicks and condemning and judging gays and Atheists, Atheists need to stop harassing and name calling Christians.

I may be Atheist, but I still believe some Christian virtues, if that makes sense.

That's the point I was trying to get across, I believe there are some good people that go to hell, sadly. Don't pass my words as believed fact, this is me. I personally plan to live my life normally, stand up for what I think is right, condem no one, judge noone, go out of my way to help those in need. Should I still go to hell, so be it. Least I lived my life here happily and content. Also, you need to change your bitchy tone, just as bad as those who get butthurt from your words.

experience, because again, I'm happy she got what she wanted, but this video makes it seem like all you have to do is plug in an implant and turn it on and suddenly a deaf person is able to function as if they were born hearing. That's not the case at all. There is more to this story, I am certain. In fact, in her Ellen interview, she says one of the things she appreciates about the implant is being able to hear music *clearly*, which indicates to me that she did have some hearing before.

because she was born deaf HOWEVER not all deaf ppl are without speech. My aunt and my friend both deaf, were able to speak, my aunt not as good as my friend. She didn't exactly detail what defect she had at birth but you'd think she wouldn't have to but I guess most ppl think all deaf ppl can't speak which is very wrong and kind of an insult to them in a way. Marlee became fully deaf in one ear and almost in the other at 20mths old or smething like that. Everybody's birth defect is not the same

eh, my aunt in law is deaf and you'd be amazed the things she could make out without hearing me actually say them so I think, if sound was put to it, it wouldn't take a rocket scientist to know its the word HAPPY, etc. It's like learning sign language, it's quiet language but you still know what they are saying immediately after learning the alphabet & language well. . .same difference

*completely* deaf since birth. Even with assistance from technology, including even the most current cochlear implant technology, learning speech is a long and generally difficult process involving lots of therapy. If she's been in speech therapy all of her life, that might explain her ability to produce intelligible speech, but it does not explain how a woman with profound hearing loss has no indication of that hearing loss in her voice. It just doesn't work that way. So not to detract from her

This is awesome. I had a friend shortly after high school who was deaf and got an implant. She found it so weird to hear herself speak and she was really infatuated with the sound of water running. It's amazing what technology can do!!
