Excellent tutorial! Many of these twirling skills can be transferred over to nunchakus. Are you into nunchakus at all? Also, many of the moves in your tutorials are similar to Samoan Fireknife twirling moves. Once again, excellent tutorials. Thanks for posting!

No real reason other than it was about 105 degrees that day and the white mace reflects heat rather than absorbs it.
