Wow....and that is how you dance to "Dance of the Snowflakes." Hands down that was the best snowflake dance I have ever scene in any Nutcracker.

The best snowflake dance of all the Nutcrackers! All of "The Hard Nut" is great (and funny), but this is actually beautiful to watch. The guys in tu tu's were a blast and just as graceful as the girls.

@skybreaker09 the source material was originally thrown out so the choreographer could make it lighter and fairy tale-ish...so your reasoning doesn't wash.

I love the gay dancers, but couldn't you have created more glamorous sets for them--the camp quality is especialy screaming out for this.

@windstorm1000 You do realize that the source material for this ballet is very dark and at times quite bleak. Very much like this wonderful production. If anything they are a lot closer to the original children's story.

I knew it was just a matter of time before the modernist directors would f---- with this classic. Looks like its under the freeway ramp (drab set!!)--well snow falls there too I suppose.choreography is weird too. keep the child in this classic please.

Were so doing this for nutty butcracker this year!!! cheers! ( For those of you that dont know what that is, nutty buttcracker is a parody of the nutcracker that is company coreographed and done by the company the night before opening night just for shits and giggles.)

Been lucky enough to live near Berkeley, where MM brings the "Hard Nut" almost every year, and have seen it a number of times. I love how audiences often get so caught up in the goofy energy of this section that they even start cheering the explosions of snowflakes, like a fireworks show.
