From Eric's new album, "Live At The Red Shack", a live retrospective featuring guests such as Lyle Lovett, Nanci Griffith and others, "Dean Moriarty" is a song based on the character in Kerouac's "On The Road", based on Neal Cassady. Speaking of the album, Mike Penard of American Roots Music (ISA Radio, France) says, "I have rarely listened to a live album with such a sound ...Eric 's voice on all these so good songs and the sound of the electric guitar create a very unique atmosphere ... honestly this CD will last as something unique, it is magical, it is an extraordinary moment, in the literal meaning of the word. It is pure beauty."

Eric Taylor is a sage musician, a lyrical genius and a master of the guitar. If you're familiar with the intricate Texas singer/ songwriter jigsaw puzzle, you probably already know a lot about Taylor. If you're not familiar with Taylor by name, you've probably heard his songs performed by people such as Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. He has created a multitude of fans and devotees that are legends themselves in the singer/songwriter realm, artists who have long considered Taylor to be a teacher and a lantern bearer whose time is long overdue.

  • I saw Eric play Brighton England 2 or 3 weeks back, unbelievable, his voice, his guitar playing and his songs and what songs and I spoke to him after the show and he signed his new album. If you get the chance to see him live I promise you you'll love every minute.

  • Incredible, inspirational, beautiful.
