This is a short extract of an eight-minute serious compostion for Piano Solo which I composed in 1983 and which has been performed several times by Louis Alvanis, most notably on the new CD "Piano Colours" which has just been released on the Meridian label and will shortly be available for sale on Amazon and iTunes.

  • Very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi Jonathan, impressive and very strict...

did the recordings with Louis and Meridian ever happen? I have sadly lost contact with Louis since they moved...can you help? Gregers Brinch

We met after Louis premiered a few of my pieces in the Wigmore almost 4 years ago

  • Not my favourite composition language, but tour conception and playing is really comunicative and direct, and I think you are a true artist. Congratulations and thank you for sharing.

  • This style of music brings to mind the erratic fall of a rubber ball down marble stairs. If that is what you meant to depict then I congratulate you. If not, then I am lost for words. Nevertheless, there seems to be some sort of coherence to it all, but I'll be darned if I know where it is.

  • Very cool original composition!

  • Sounds like Charles Ives at times. Very moving music. I can hear those splashes of tone with a rock drum beat. Can you ? Great work Jonathan.

    Merry Christmas my friend .

  • You truly are talented. You are quite the composer! Great one!

  • Very interesting! The piano can convey so many feelings and moods! Great job:) 5*****
