SNES Front Mission

I was lucky to be familiar with this game since it came out, thanks to the best UK magazine ever printed for SNES: Super Play, Issue #31. I already loved mechs before, but this game just had it all, Graphics, music, story, gameplay, mech custmization, you name it. I eventualy bought it from ebay, but as stated in the magazine, it does not run on any SNES except the Japanese version. So much later that I played this 100% English translations by FH. I cant quite put my finger in it and tell you why, but this game is just special. I was very please to hear it being remade and just launched in Japan for the DS. Hopefuly, this time it get released outside Japan.

i know this comes late but i own the jap original for snes. live in germany btw. and it actually runs on a fire adapter! first jap game i finished multiple times without even understanding the story. the sheer visual beauty and the gameplay kept me going. why can't games achieve this nowadays? i love that u can attach a shield to ur shoulder + carry 2 weapons and a missile launcher!!! imo the latest front mission is a big failure. yup, played it.

@Squallcleaver Lucky! I also have the original jap game (stil boxed and with manual!) but couild never find an adapter that would run it on my PAL SNES (Portugal here). Truly, one of the best games I ever played ih my life.

@EddieEddieEddie90 Sorry, you are mistaken. Check out Tactics Ogre, Ogre Battle, Monstania, Bahamut Lagoon and quite a few others that I cant recall at this time. =)

@Squallcleaver they have remade this game on the nintendo ds. I bought it off ebay, it's in english and it's awesome! front mission 3 and 4 are cool too. I want to play # 5! must admit, I think evolved is crap too!

@EddieEddieEddie90 Apart from those mentioned by ShiryuGL, the fire emblem games are tactical, as is Super Conflict, Der Langrisser and quite a few others. Many did not make it out of Japan though, but fans have spent quite a lot of time translating these games.
