Just got my Sig Sauer P226 and P229 back from the Sig Sauer Custom Shop in Exeter, New Hampshire. This video provides a brief overview of the work I had performed on my weapons by the Sig Sauer Custom Shop Gunsmiths. Those folks do fine work, and it is reflected in the price paid yet worth every penny.

  • Nice. Like the new grips?

  • @austinguy23 Thank you. I did too, at first, but after working with the weapon, it feels a little too narrow, but I'll keep trying to make them work.

  • Didn’t know they made 18 round mags. Is it wider? Bought 2 - 226's, (police turn-ins). Took em apart, cleaned w/ Hoppys, blew em out with air. Did that twice, used spray gun oil, got pretty saturated everywhere, & blew out. Put drops of oil on the rails. They looked nearly new. I love em both they are so accurate. I like everything about the 226 especially the de-cock, instead of a conventional. In panic mode will you remember? First pull, you’ll know. Where can I buy the maintenance pad shown?

  • @onewhocares2010 To the best of my knowledge, Sig Sauer doesn't make an 18 round magazine, and if I said that, I am dead wrong. My apologies. My P226 magazines are 15 round. My personal opinion, if I may offer, is if you even so much as question whether or not you will remember to use the de-cock lever, you would do well to purchase same weapon in DAK. I own several DAKs across the Classic line, and they are quite nice. I found the bench mat on eBay. Thanks.

  • You're making me nerves with you're shaky hands . You'll make the gun go off by accident .

  • @JR12345111 It is what it is. You can always simply...not watch if that will make you feel better. I've managed well all these years.

  • @airsoft787 Appreciate it.

  • Sorry about your dad that sucks. Great video and nice guns

  • @ldgrey1963 Hi, and thank you very much for your questions. The Armorer's Course for Sig Sauer Classic Pistols, which is oriented toward P220, P226, P229, and P239 costs $395.00. I'm certain learned skill sets cross to other platforms such as P6/P225, P11/P228, and P245, but I'm not sure if the same holds true for SP2022. Unless the SP2022 slide is marked "STAINLESS," it is a safe bet it is a carbon steel slide, but please, ask an Armorer who has dealt with that weapon system to verify. Thx.

I was wondering, how much did it cost you to take the SIG Armorer course. I would like to learn the detail strip for the SP2022 (9mm) and the P226 (40 S&W). I have fired 1000's of rnds in the 2022 and I would like to check out the firing pin channel for carbon buildup. I am not having any issues with either, just want to do some PM on both weapons. The nitron is wearing off of the 2022 do you know is that is a Stainless or carbon slide? Thanks for all of your help.
