My husband found this baby crow that had fallen out of the nest. He waited for his parents to show up but they must have been busy with other babies. There was no way that he would make it on his own, and a large rain storm was coming in, so he brought him home and his was his first day with us. His name is Louie and he is a good eater. We feed him hard boiled egg yokes and chicken and turkey baby food.

  • What is she feeding it with???

  • @White4light, I was useing a handle end of a plastic knife.

  • i found one today i am giving him dog food .. what are you feeding this guy

  • @Treblinka2012 , We feed him hard boiled egg yokes and chicken and turkey baby food. You might have to put a little water in his mouth too. Later I feed him cat food and live crickets to teach him to find food. Good luck.

  • I can't help but feel somewhat perturbed that you're feeding a bird more birds. That's like a dog eating dog. Literally!

But rofl. He's so cute, too. You look like you're taking very good care of him. (Of course, this comment is late, you probably don't even have him anymore.)

    Kudos!

  • @BendyJenny, I don't have Louie anymore and I miss him, but I am sure he is living a very happy life.

The birds eating and eggs does seem kinda weird at first but then it totally makes sense if you think about. It has everything good for the life of a baby bird in it. I feed hard boiled eggs back to my chickens if they lay more then I can, eat, sell, give a way, pot luck, give to the cats. They LOVE them.

    Thanks for the nice comment.

  • @MrGoCam, You are kind of a jerk by the way you are going about this. Think about it, the Government has lied to us all to go to war and kill people all around the world and I can't even save the life of a baby bird that fell out of a tree without permit.

  • Baby birds that have grown their feathers in are typically ones that have failed on their first flight. Afterwards natural instincts urge them to seek shelter and 'call' constantly for their parents to remind them where they are and to drop in for feedings.

A better solution would of been to have a simple makeshift covering for the bird outside, I've always been told, so the parents can hear.

Good luck raising it, at any rate. It appears past the imprinting stage, so keep an eye out for that.

  • @BendyJenny No it is not like that at all. Think of it as a mammal eating another mammal (like you eating a burger) or a fish eating other fish. There is absolutely nothing cannibalistic about a crow eating turkey.

  • Your torturing it! Just move the ca the not the bird!

  • aww^^...hes cute^^....is he now your pet raven?

  • GAH GAH GAH. OMNOMNOM... GAHHH GAH GAHHH!!!

  • great crow parent sounds! that probably made him feel safer :)

  • can i have it?

  • @sablechicken i think what he is trying to say is that a wild bird needs to stay wild because if he/she is domesticated it will lose it's survival instincts and skills because it will then rely on you to feed him, when its time for him to live on his own it might not survive
