Roadtripguy's Homebrew Nixie Tube Clock Project 1...

This is a quick video of one of the Nixie Tube Clock projects I've been working on. It features TTL decade counter chips (and a few others), and Russian IN-18 Nixie tubes. The little board between the tubes and the breadboard is a custom tube driver board that I designed and had made. The clock works flawlessly, but I still need to debounce the switches, make the seconds reset to zero in "time set mode," make it 12/24 hour settable, add blinking colons, and finalize my 180v power supply design. Once these items are finished, I'll design the rest of the circuit boards.

CPU?? We don't need no steenking CPUs! At the stage this clock was in when this video was made, I was stealing the 180v power from another board (green board at the bottom). My clock is totally TTL logic chips. I've since had circuit boards made for it (with a self incorporated power supply), and have a "real" unit. Check my other Nixie Clock video.
