Everyone says our children are important, but too often our actions, priorities and policies don't live up to their expectations. Healthy child development is the foundation of community and economic development. It is critical to our country's entire future. But we still lose at least five children per day to abuse and neglect, and our failure to prevent maltreatment costs our country $104 billion each year. And the long term costs may be even greater -- mental health issues, addiction, violent crime, lost educational potential and lost productivity. This is unacceptable in the greatest country in the history of the world. America needs to put our children back at the top of the national priority list. It's time for an awakening.

How true that is. What makes it worse is that some people (like my mother) wrongly assume that those kids were never punished for anything.

oh crap not another activist video that will make me cry! that's like the 3rd time today. lol. big baby eyes don't help ppl, that's all I'm saying. And yes, I would like to advocate for children's voices!! They are smarter than us... don't care what anyone says, if we could take the passion, energy, and potential that children have and allow them to unleash it in constructive ways (of courrrse) in this world, they'd do absolutely amazing things
