  • Thanks bro

  • @itouchhacker241 no problem

  • Thanks for the video. I tried this, but it didn't work. I have a strange problem where a few of the keys (x,c,q) don't work with the keyboard in place, but once it's lifted out of the laptop, the keys function properly. Any idea what it might be?

  • @pworam68 the only thing i can think of is the cable itself, because it would be the only thing thats moving when you lift the keyboard, maybe its the ribbon cable latch(connector), once its closed with the cable in it, put a small piece of masking tape across it to keep it from moving, when replacing the keyboard, -if i think of any other ideas, i will contact you.

  • thank you so much..my UMID M1 keyboard was screwed..you saved it thanks. You can get them in Korea real cheap. I owe you!! If you want I can put you in contact with a guy who sells them for 200USD. UMID M1's. Thx so much..buy yourself a beer!

  • Thank you! Thank you!! Thank You!!!

This worked for my HP Envy.

I was very skeptical with the blurry video and all.

The moment before I cut the ribbon cable felt like what someone diffusing a bomb must feel...After crossing the point of no return, I had a few minutes of tension while I wanted for the reboot and... viola! It worked!!

  • have you tried clear packing tape, but take a business card and cut it the same width as the ribbon cable, attach it to the top of the ribbon cable to add extra support, then place it in the contact and tape it there.

  • I'm so glad that I found a video about this. I broke the piece that locks or holds the keyboard in place. I was able to get the keyboard working again but it's loose right now and the keyboard doesn't light up any more. Do you have any suggestions for securing it so it doesn't pop back out again accidentally and so it makes full contact with it's connector on the motherboard? I thought about using glue but I would like to be able to remove it again. Thanks!
