My attitude towards Killing Joke is quite ambivalent. On the one side I really like their great music, their sound - on the other side I´m sick of Jaz Coleman´s political radicalism.
But Inside The Termite Mound creates a remarkable dark and sinister atmosphere of "endless construction", comparing some human efforts to the lethal and non-individual collective of a termite mound...
However, dear Jaz, I´m not bitching about the Western civilization as you love to do. All pictures of human ´termite mounds´ shown are from biggest (and tallest) ´endless construction´ sites of the world - Dubai, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Kaohsiung...

  • Jaz Coleman says truth things, nevermind if he's radical, look at the world today....

  • the "truth" can be sometimes very subjective, dogamitc and manipulative.

  • Would have been better with images of Cities and SkyScrapers in new york.

  • well, in NYC are not many skyscrapers left...

  • I don't think Jaz is radical. So his words are sometimes political, sometimes spiritual. I agree with his railing against western civilization as you call it. The "west" is destroying the earth and our very humanity. And Killing Joke was awesome on saturday sunday last in NYC. Since the last two new albums I am listening and relistening to all their music.

  • well, in my opinion is jaz mad and genial at the same time. he´ll never be a commom musician. and that makes him irredeemable in one or another way. but personally i hate when musicians try to be politicians (and vice versa...) and misuse their concerts for agitations (like bono vox or massive attack i experienced). coleman´s view of the society like in this song may be very intriguing and welcome, but his communistic ideas of private property refusal quite extreme ("money is not our god").

  • Weither you consider Jaz Coleman's views radical or no. He still has a point and isn't too far off from the way the world is being run now. You call it "radical".. I'll call it "ahead of the curve".

    Money is Not Our god!!!

  • jaz is just breakin down the barriers of tongue in cheek messianism , dont take people too seriously i think is the message

  • Unbelievably epic guitar sound. Geordie Walker is so underrated. Nobody can write riffs that sound like this. His sound is monstruous and beautiful.

  • @keeroy Ur fxxxin clueless, i hate cunts who try and deal with theory and just dont get it, music is a medium to express whatever you feel is important, its a useful method of communicating with each other, u shud go away and disappear, this is not jaz's political philosophy, its his own theory fukwit

  • Radical ? Just a human reaction about all the shit we eat day after day.

A way to stay alive and kicking.

Not a dogma, only a path to reach wisdom and stay real.

    With doubt, pain, conscience.

To keep our love of life real and make it better.

    To bury this endless construction.

    To reach something else :

"You are an inspiration to me

You are my inspiration of how not to be

You are my inspiration to achieve a better way of life"

  • Christ.......fair play some of the most articulate comments I've ever read on youtube. There's hope yet.

  • Nice song. However, dear Keeroy, it is extremely wanky to write your own opinions as a video description.

  • dummy

  • a glorious disasterous epic nihilistic anthem

  • because such an unusual number of implicit, not explicit, errors have been made on this subject I think it is good advice for everyone to be very wary when they hear the word "communist!" being brandished as an epiphet... be sure that it is explicitly accurate and not merely implicit
