The real one is belt fed, yes. The side-box on this resembles the ammo can they would sometimes mount to the side of the gun. However, most of the time, there was an ammo-man and the gunner. The ammo man would carry the ammunition around, and feed it into the gun.

lol the reason they dont make it out of metal is cus it will weight over 30 pounds? thats how much the real one weights so im going to make one out of metal and mount it on my atv and use it as a mounted machine gun

I already knew the weight of the actual real gun was over 30lbs... We just chose to not lug that around on the field.
