I used to think my obesity was something I could not control with diet and exercise. Then we moved to Africa. Within 6 months, I lost 85 pounds. After a year, I had achieved a healthy weight--115 pounds lighter than when we moved there. Take away the typical American diet and lifestyle, and the weight will fall off. We are back in USA and I find I must work deligently to keep the weight off. In Africa, I never once thought about it.
"war on obsese people".....hahahaha. How the does one let their kid be that big in the first place? Yes there is a war on obese people...the essence of the word 'obese' refers to susceptibility. More likely to not eat healthy, more likely to exercise less, more likely to laze about, more likely to cause undue pressure on bodily organs. Bla bla bla. Big people attack 'thin' people equally, so stop being hypocritical and only thinking in terms of extremes. gah!
i asked my mom if i could have that surgery done, but she said i had to be 100 pounds over weight and high blood pressure and at an extreme risk for diabeties, but i'm not 100= overweight, i'm like 60, i have low blood pressure and not at risk for diabeties, so i have to diet like the reast of the people, not cool, not easy, not fun
that doesnt mean that there isnt anything we can do about it, it just means that now we have to become more informed.i don't see how MeMe is being shallow she is just saying the truth.
Hello, This is Kelly Bliss. Some of the responders assume that plus size = unfit. You are welcome to join me as I teach my 4 aerobics and weight training classes/wk, or join me in my hourly walk each day, or join me as I ride my bike three days a week. And finally, you may join me on my TRIKKE. I say you "may", because unless you are as fit as I am (at age 53), I don't know if you "can". When you assume plus size = unfit, you are being prejudice and showing ignorance.
The blond woman is one of the most shallow-minded people I have ever heard talking about weight loss. The obesity epidemic in the US is directly related to the production and distibution of high frustose corn syrup in foods. Even if we all had the will power of super-humans we will still be subjected to entire grocery stores full of foods loaded with high frustose corn syrup. Even wheat bread and worschtishire sauce is loaded with it!

Obviously you are eating too many calories, too many carbs, and not exercising intensely. Instead of walking for 1 hour, run for 30 mins.
I'd love to take a look at your diet.

Uh, look at ingredients labels and don't buy products containing high fructose corn syrup then?
