WwW.thesuperkids.com have some new awesome motors, check them out!
This e-bike may cost Under $1000 Especially if you live in the USA! 69KM/H Achieved in this video! No needs to higher your voltage, save your money, this is fast enough on a bicycle!
Kranked Progression BKS frame - $169-$299 going price (shop around). Full kit + extras www.beepscom.com (now Cloudelectric.com) $329.99 (Cheaper at monsterscooterparts.com HOWEVER discontinued at both places Thesuperkids.com have some similar motors and have a BBB rating of A. SLA 18ah light batteries. 20ah Batteries Nominal! Really cheap! $38ea x 3. http://www.electricvehiclesusa.com/product_p/ba-ty-12-20.htm
(For 18ah batteries: www.Batterymart.com.. 35-50$
$100 unique freewheel crank adaptor designed by us (if you do the welding) wires, mounts, neccessities, etc - under $200. = $983.00 TOTAL + tax + shipping (if applicable). This means the whole bike completed with only the neccessities (no covers) given that you build it on your own and have the tools will cost you around this at minimum ($953) - which is really cheap to achieve 60+km/h and have some gears to play with. Compare this cost to hub kits (completed bike total) and for this kind of performance, you'll see, there's a big difference!
It will take time to figure the freewheel out unless you get assistance from us and possibly many others seen in the future. Distance is around 30kms @ 32km/h no pedalling at only 18AH batteries!!! (Keep in mind, we are not even using the lightest batteries, but still very light) The freewheel we make is durable, and since the ratio was reduced to borderline, the motor has not overheated in over 1000kms, still working very well.
You see, I wouldn't want to be exposed to all that wind and weather and that's why I would want to see this in an enclosed bike version like a velomobile.

@thedsearch Well, just about any bike can be covered. I am still planning on the cover for this one. I have the fiberglass, just need to form and mount.

cool video.i been using a hub motor for 6 years and have over 3000 miles on it with no problems at all.i have been caught in the rain and the bike always made it back on and the motor never cuts out even on the steepest hills.

This motor never cut out for me either on really steep hills.. Unless the batteries are dead. I have a hub also, a 5305.. I have raised the voltage on it, the currie still beats it. This motor is a little beast. As for rain, I've rode in tons of it... Though I do not recommend it for chain drives, unless they're covered, it still has no problems in rain.
