What people dont understand about the private security business is that the parent company, Securitas USA in this instance, is billing the client between $24-30 per man hour and then pays the actual guards $10-12 per man hour. There are usually no matching 401k programs, and no company paid health insurance. There are no cost of living adjustments either.

@dwmatty - i agree with you.Listen to me i know the value of money . Its not how much you make , its how you save , budget and enjoy . For somebody who wants to make a career out of security . 1st make sure you get decent benefits,decent union to be in thou its not nessary,dont be one of these guards spending $ 11 bucks a pack of ciggerettes a day , make sure they have a 401 k plan , if not invest in a roth ira or a traditional IRA thru a well known investment establishment . part 1

I worked for this company for 6 years...I filled a lawsuit againt them they said I abandoned my post and fired me and I was not even working that night and they knew it......They fired me for no reason at all....What Idiots....I really got them because my friend worked for me that night and they told him 4 days before that that I was going to be off....You talk about idiots....And what was more stupid they gave me a letter that said I abandoned my post that night that I was fired..

As a result of how I was ignored, I lost respect for Sharon Gonzalez and Carol Mitchell who I had met in May 1982 when they were working for Intercon Security in Pasadena California.

I lost a job due to a overstated accusation (from Donald Ponschke that my fellow guard could have debunked his complaint) that a well conducted investigations would had disproved the complaint.

Ms Sharon Gonzalez, Ms Carol Mitchell, and Captain Edgar Escarcega of Securitas in Mid-Wilshire Los Angeles in May 2008 did not allow the use of Alternate Dispute Resolution as stated in the At Will Employment contract.

the foot level security is a joke. they pay minimum wage and it is bill out to the companies at $50 or even way more on long term contracts. LOOK at all the FAT that has to be paid. they hire u, throw you at a site, and forget about you. no raises, this company is a joke. They believe that since the economy is terrible, that you will work for there pathetic wage, and if you start to complain about how much you make, they believe you can easily be replaced because many desperate people need a job.
