Muslims are confused with the two Testaments in the Bible, and believe one contradicts, or abrogates the other. As Christians we believe both Testaments (or Covenants) are authoritative. The Old Testament, written between 1400 BC and 400 BC lays a foundation, preparing the world for the coming of the Messiah (whom we and Muslims know as Jesus Christ). The New Testament, written in the 1st century AD is the fulfillment of everything the Old Testament promised, providing us with the story of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, how he died and rose again for our salvation, how the early church was formed, and how, using Jesus as a model, we are to live today. Therefore, we no longer need to go to the Old Testament as a model for how we should live. It is Christ's example, in the New Testament where we now find that model. Furthermore, we don't need any further revelation after the New Testament, and so do not need yet another prophet (such as Muhammad), or a further scripture (such as the Qur'an), especially ones which contradicts so much of what was in the Bible. So, The Old Testament sets the stage for Jesus, all of which was then fulfilled in the New Testament. And that's all we need for today, Jesus and His gospel.

  • Hygienic rules have changed, the how about the rules regarding woman, blacks and homosexuals? Where do we find the rules in either testamnent to deal with this? I believe humanity is evolving out of the need for a God beliefe. Am I wrong?

  • so to borrow you stupid right wing hipocryts own words Jesus was a "flipflopper"?

  • @ENGINEERHERBS Something like that yes.

  • Did Jesus said: You have heard that You cannot eat pork but now I say you can eat?

  • There are not 2 covenants first of all. Brit Codesha means renewed covenant. That's what Yahusha was saying in the sermon on the mount in Matt 5-7. That is what was meant when he said Heaven and Earth will pass away before 1 tittle or yod of the Torah will fail. King James did the world a great injustice by mistranslating the scriptures and now christians believe that they have something different from the Torah when all teaching in the renewed covenant came from the Torah and Tanak.
