Korngold's score is so wonderful, that I play my CD and can visualize the whole film.
Korngold was a serious composer who had turned down Robin Hood. He was preparing to return to Vienna when he heard that the Nazis had taken over. He changed his mind, stayed and wrote the score to Robin Hood reportedly saying something like we needed people like Robin Hood in these times.
Does ANYONE have any film clip of the scene that shows Robin and Maid Marion in the forrest (at the "feast scene"),
After she sees all the suffering, she says "You're a strange man, because you want to do something about it... You've given up your land, your title..."
He gently says, "You just don't understand, do you?", she says "Im sorry... I do understand a little...now." Then the most romantic words ever, "Well if you do, that's reward enough for me" (kissing her hand). Too romantic!
