  • Is there any signal that switches color by itself? Like with track sensors or something?

  • @knightbob81 Yes there are, they are manufacture by BMLA and Tomar are a two of the manufactures i have in mind right now, I’m sure there are more… they are called searchlights, some manufactures use 3 led’s within the signal to simulate the color changes “green, yellow, red” and some companies uses a tricolor led to simulate the change in color..Note…these signals will only work with a signal activator..

  • @knightbob81 Logic Rail..Everybody i know that uses signals, including me in a couple of days uses this system it's kind of expensive but everybody says they are the best..Let’s c when i get mine..

  • I wish I understood what light series were to be used and when, I have a million turnoutsm two mailines and a yard.....why use two color over three or tower vs ground? or over hang vs just a post?

should a rail yard even have lights, small little ones next to each turnout?

  • @TheEmarbe im working on a video on how to do this type of signal i'll probably uploaded by next week.it all the depends if i have a lot of homework.

  • @BNSFCSX1 Do you know who makes the signal activator?

  • @TheEmarbe in order to make the signal work you need to get a signal control which in many cases requires rensors on the track to locate the train, the sensors send a signal to the control box which the control box will send a signal to the actually signal and tell which color to turn on or change, and i dont recomend to use loose LED's due to it wont be realistic.

  • @BNSFCSX1 my local shop has some to spec - not sure of the brand buy full working 3 light LEDS that change colors - $20/each

as for the lights in the ground I was thinking of just using loose LEDS and see how long they last, haha

    thanks a ton man!

  • @TheEmarbe The cheapest working signals i have seen are from Tomar industries... or u can just make your own using cheap walthers kit.....but if u don't want to deal with wiring, Tomar is the way to go..just my opinion!...

  • @BNSFCSX1 cheers! Im trying to get some realistic working lights on my HO layout I hope CP and everyone else are on the same page with lights

  • @TheEmarbe see like i told you.. green when the turnout is straight and red when is activated rather to the left or right!....and that's a nice picture by the way!
