I love how Obumba wouldn't show photos of the fictitous Bin Laden assassination becae he didn't want to offend muslims and they were "too gruesome" Yet the lying U.S. gov't had NO problem putting out pictures of the Hussein son's and a crowd carting off a bloody and beaten Khadaffi... It seems the US gov't only shows the dead bodies of men they actually kill. Bin Laden was a CIA asset who's codename was more than likely Tim Osman...

@cazador45 politics in any country are both complicated and imperfect. I'd be hard-pressed to find any government where some degree of corruption doesn't exist. But regardless of how stupid/biased the american media is, Chavez is an oppressive leader who has divided the country to the point where people kill each other constantly. There is hatred. There is almost no part of Caracas where you can walk w/o fear of being mugged. There are a slew of problems that don't exist in the "1st world."

I have yet to find a good source of information in English about Vzla., but in Spanish there is plenty (that Chavez cannot manage to censor). Read, even look on youtube - research before you publish, especially if you are famous and have an influence on the public's opinion. (end)

I think Penn's views on Vzla. might be shaped by his disapproval of the US's policies, but his "reports" on Vzla. are inaccurate. It is not uncommon to read of 70 murders over the course of a weekend in Caracas alone. The capital has one of the highest murder rates in the world. Most crimes (think 90%) go un-prosecuted and unsolved. Regardless of political philosophy, it is an atrocity that the people in Vzla. live like they do. (cont)
