http://fixmycabinet.com There are two methods used to fix or straighten a warped cabinet door. To get the curve out of a Formica or plywood door you can use clamps and a piece of wood. If that doesn't work a series of cuts can be made to correct the curvature on your kitchen, bathroom or office cupboard door. Both methods are shown in the video.

Method 1
Place a piece of one and a half inch square wood that is the width of the door on a table. Situate the arrangement so that you can place clamps on either end of the cabinet door that has the warp in it.

Place the door on the 1-1/2" square piece and attach the clamps on either end. Tighten the clamps down until the cure of the cabinet door is reversed.

Leave the wrapped door in that position over night.

If that doesn't take the curve out of the cabinet door, make a series of cuts on the backside of the door using a skill saw.

Method 2
Deduct one quarter of an inch from the thickness of your kitchen or vanity door and set the skill saw blade to cut that depth.

Example: If your door is five eights inches thick, set the saw to cut three eights thick.

Measure in one inch on either side of the door's width and draw lines.

Do not cut past the one inch marks.

In the center of the warped cabinet door, make several cuts that are a half inch to one inch apart from each other. Make enough of these cuts so that the door will become flexible enough to bend the cure out of the door.

Relaminate the backside of the door with Formica or real wood veneer to cover over the cuts.

As you are rolling the new piece of laminate on the backside, press the warp out of the kitchen or bathroom cabinet door.
