  • The motor is 3 hp at 2800 watts so yeah it can make 7 tons of hydraulic force...

Okay, so what's with the two levers? Were you pressing both at once? How do they work?

  • come on test it on something bigger than that shit...

  • WHAT IT WEIGHTS 7 TONS?!?

  • You did a great disservice to that log splitter by using small pieces to wood to demonstrate it. It makes the splitter appear to be capable of nothing but small logs. I have a similar one and those splitters are capable of far larger logs.

Also there's something wrong with your splitter as that electric motor shouldn't continue to keep operating once you've released the buttons and levers.

  • The tonnage is pre determined by the pump and ram. The splitter is available with several different induction motors, 1500w, 1600w even a 2200w. The tonnage doesn't change, it's part of the design. This splitter is marketed by lots of different companies and they choose the motor specifications for their particular market. Sending the oil at a faster rate increases the speed slightly but nothing more.

  • @hrhpaul Doesnt the rated tonnage depend on the motor ? How are you saying its not 7T without knowing what the rated hp/wattage/amps are for the motor ?

  • It's 4/5 tons... certainly not 7....!!
