Vegetables are fine for rats as long as they are in their regular diet. I wouldn't suggest too much broccoli, but it looks like she only got it as a treat, which compared to other treats is very healthy. It's nice seeing people loving & caring for their rats properly. ^_^

How long does a typical rat live anyway? I know mice have pretty short lifespans, but I'm guessing rats may live a good deal longer?

It may be a little late to say this but brocolli is bad for rats.. it can make them sick because it gives them gas and they cant fart very well
