Material used here PVC is safe, it is used extensively for use in blood bags, it is not carcinogenic nor is it being phased out

However, I have to point out the material it's made of is NOT safe to be in, cos it's PVC, and by now we know that's carcinogenic and is being phased out. Look up a YT video, THE SEVEN DEADLY PLASTICS.

Johher, I was there too in Amsterdam! It was the exhibition at the Brakke Grond theatre, 23rd of April 2004. I didn't get packed myself. Too chicken, sorry! I am asthmatic so I have good reason to steer clear of such things, but it was really cool to watch all the other people get packed, as well as Malstaf himself of course.

there's a pipe that he controls, letting in air
Indeed: fresh air flows in through the tube overhead, a wide reinforced open-air tube. So the performer always has fresh breathing air.
The airflow is controlled by pushing the thumb more or less deeply into the suction tube. The less he puts in his thumb, the stronger is the suction and the tighter is the Big Hug from the plastic enclosure.
In 2004 in Amsterdam I shared this experience with 19 others from the audience. Each of us was inside for about 5 min. Two wonderful hours altogether!
