Crunk up a DL385 G1 and you may feel what is like to live next to airport.
The fans run at maximum speed for a while, and in normal, then they run even more :P

@hovh03 Yes that is normal. Rack servers are the noisiest things ever. You are lucky if you can bear being near one for an extended period of time.

Mine is loud like that, then the fans slow down and the noise goes down. However, it's way more than desktop's noise even after it goes down. Is that normal? I can't use this sitting next to it. I assume it's normal. Would someone please share?
