@morg92 I own a Dodge Sprinter and they raised my rates because they call it a "Commercial Vehicle." I use it to drive 6 miles to my business and home and maybe do some shopping. The whole Insurance Rackett is messed up! We are on our 2 Prius averaging 48-50mpg. Not bad.

@demonfoxx the motor generates 306 hp at 7000 rpm and 362 lb-ft of torque between 6500-10,000 rpm (redline is 14k!).

This is truly a beautiful machine in form and function! I'd prefer black seats though. (in case anyone is thinkin' of buying me one :)

Note to Tesla; Ditch the cheesy music and let us hear the car! Really, the sound of the electric motor winding up is so enticing! Why hide it with cheap promo music?

This car will be cheaper to maintain but insurance companies will still find an excuse to raise the cost of insurance on electric vehicles. If you think about it its kinda sad how any step in the right direction will be halted by corporate greed or government regulations.
does anybody know how much HP the car has?

@demonfoxx, The Model S will use a liquid-cooled motor with a peak output of 300 kilowatts, or about 402 horsepower. That's a significant hike over the Roadster, which puts out 248 horsepower.
