Love it ! :D Thanks for posting, it's very awsome !
In what kind of martial arts school can we be taught this ? Iaido schol ?
-
its ok your other website has what i look for :) samurai-actionDOTcom/
Even if they say "we are not fighting but acting" , they also say "The creator of this Samurai Exercise is our teacher, Hiroaki Iiyama; a MASTER of Samurai Swords" , beauty of move is truth, truth is powerfull no matter what haters say, peace and devotion

@01samurai on your website , is the Dvd subbed in english or is it full japanese :/ ? how foreign customers can buy it ? :o

@ksr1219 cant you see the difference between useless show off katana videos and real skill demonstration & teaching video like this one ? plus the music here really is modern "warrior like" , perfect for the sword practice as a background sound
with this video i can learn how to do correctly do the moves they show in every angle, even if my style remains "nitoryu"
big high five to these guys for doing such great stuff for "learn hungry" people like me

onagueishimatsu good videos your so good you're a master thank you i'm learning more with you

well until we attain the rank of shodan, we are only to use blunt blades, but after that you are permitted to use sharp or 'live' blades, which can cut very very well. The carbon steel blades are always sharp, but you can get regular steel blades in sharp or blunt form. Until i got my black belt, i was not allowed to train with live blades, and my swords were always regular steel and blunt.
-
i got a question, when you use the live blades are you using the ones that cut or its the carbon-steel ones, but it is safer to use and it doesn't cut? I am just wondering because my sensei has the longsword that do not cut people and is safe to use and it is carbon steel and the short-sword that can cut through paper or japanese matts.
-
i found them nearly identical, as they still attack the same way. to block, parry, cut and stab using the exact same techniques, when i began using a live blades in training, i found no difference in the way i use a katana and a tsurugi, and even with dai-katana (they frighten me though, because they are so big and heavy :D)
-
i have a question. is a katana and a tsurugi still attack the same way with the same movements or they are different? i was wondering cus i train with bokken for right now so i am not sure.
I liked this!
