Au-delà is set in the after-life, Au-delà considers what it must be like to be wake up and find yourself dead. To realise that life, choice and opportunity have been taken away from you, and that you now have to accept that how you behaved yesterday is how you will be remembered. There are no more opportunities to 'be better, do better -tomorrow'. As the piece journeys through the different phases believed by some to be found in the after-life, it also embarks upon the long journey from resistance to acceptance. In a move away from his recent work with Baroque music, Koen Augustijnen accompanies his gaze towards 'life after life' with the music of the legendary jazz musician Keith Jarrett.

choreography: Koen Augustijnen - dancers: Claudio Girard, Fatou Traoré, Florence Augendre, Gil Ho Yang, Koen Augustijnen - dramaturge: Lou Cope - set design: wim van de cappelle - light design: Kurt Lefevre - sound design: Sam Serruys - costume: Dorothée Catry

  • tonight in NTG Ghent, 20:30, looks gooood

  • why so much suffering? L' Au-delà is a catholic idea that sucks. No one's life is taken away at 40s....instead of being happy you finally look great and interesting on stage, you seemed to be suffering for your 'lost youth'...what a capitalist idea: fuck it! I come to see this piece

  • Wish to see you at Kalamata this summer, again.

  • vite ! Can we see this in Paris soon.... ??
