Deep Sea Isopods (Bathynomus giganteus) are gigantic relatives of garden pill bugs that live on the sea floor in certain parts of the world, including the Gulf of Mexico. They have an oblong body, four sets of jaws and very large compound eyes. At maturity, they can grow up to 18 inches in length and weight up to three pounds. They mainly live at 1,200 feet or greater.
