The goal of Project for Pride in Living's Youth Development programs is to help children and young people achieve success in school and success in life.

It is one of many PPL programs designed to help lower-income individuals and families achieve greater self-sufficiency.

PPL works with families and individuals throughout the Twin Cities metro area on these key goals:
• Housing Stability
• Economic Advancement
• Family Stability
• Youth Achievement

By taking a unique, integrated approach to programs and self-sufficiency services, staff is able to establish close relationships with adults and children.

PPL opens the doors to real opportunities for low-income people by creating and managing affordable housing, offering a variety of employment training opportunities, and operating schools for every age, as well as after school mentor programs.

With these services and programs, PPL provides a support network that many of us have with friends and family, but low-income families often lack. Such a network is vital to building a strong foundation and thriving in the community.

PPL was founded in 1972. In 2008, over 12,000 people were assisted through our housing, employment training, support services, and education. Every year, approximately 1,000 volunteers provide crucial services, skills and expertise to PPLs programs and Board of Directors.
Youth Development Programs are free and available to kids living in or near a PPL facility.

  • Nice to see PPL in action & the PPL team's positive interaction with the kids in such a friendly environment. I especially enjoyed seeing the students get excited about learning and their own achievements.
