This is the patriotic finale from "Let Freedom Ring", starring Nelson Eddy, Virginia Bruce, Edward Arnold and Lionel Barrymore (1939). This was the first movie where Nelson Eddy didn't have to wear full-blown make-up, so he loved making it. He always liked playing the outdoor, rugged type of hero, and cowboys were some of his favorites. If you like this song, then you need to go and watch him sing "The Dusty Road" (gingerrogersfan already has it on youtube, so we didn't see any reason to duplicate what's already been done so well.) Just search youtube for "Dusty Road Nelson Eddy" and enjoy!

  • BingandNelsonFan! Many thanks for Finale.

But it would be desirable to look LET FREEDOM RING entirely from the beginning to the end. Please, share this movie for all Eddy's fans (if You have it, of course).

  • Great idea! I will work on that and let you know when it's up. Thanks!

  • God Bless America!

  • Great to see this, I thought I was the only one left who still watched and believed this stuff. Kids today don't see this. Somehow it has become deleted from the curriculum.

  • I love Hollywood's patriotic movies. It is so cool when she starts singing, and what a speech! Hooray for Nelson Eddy!

  • At 3:43-The true gentle sweetness of Nelson`s smile give him an angelic aura. Lorraine

  • WOW! What a great scene

  • LET FREEDOM RING is my favorite Nelson Eddy solo film. The finale where Nelson talks to the railroad workers about freedom is one of his best acting moments. The words of the speech are made more real because they reflected Nelson`s own idealism and patriotism.

The sepia tint is beautiful. Thanks for sharing with Us. Lorraine
